However, I wasn't very clear as the way I said it seemed like I was referring to a char from a game, so my mistake there.
Um ok I should still be in the clear then, because Harley Quinn was an original character for Batman TAS. She was one of the few that was brand new on the show, and only then went on to show up in the comics and the many terrible spin-off series, which I have nothing to do with.

The characters were sometimes creepy, but not too creepy for you to really point it out. Plus, the kid with giant booger coming down is great. He'd go around and it'd just wag along. Nasty yet hilarious. And everyone had tiny feet! I mean, wtf? So weird. Honestly, I dislike the character designs in Twilight Princess. They feel just plain weird to me...
I loved the cel shaded look of Wind Waker. Its a shame they went the other way with Twillight.
Oh well, we have that new DS version coming out soon.

Ya, I can't wait for the DS game. Could be the best one yet! Honestly, Twilight reminded me too much of a Final Fantasy game, with all that lame story crap. I mean, Zelda used to be about, "here's a sword, go stab stuff, and uh...save the world". They just ruined it.

Not wanting to hyjack this thread but I think the Zelda series needs an overhaul. Twillight was pretty much more of the same thats come before via Ocarina. I think many people are thinking the same thing considering its sales in Japan.
Wind Waker was a step in the right direction....as was Majora's Mask!

The only issue I had with Majora's Mask was the time limit thing. It's intimidating at first and I never wanted to play it because of it. My friend beat it though. Said it was hecka boring.
But to keep this on topic, the creepy merchant guy in Ocarina of time is another perfect example of a unique and charming character. I think he made a comment on how handsome Link was or something.
Before I actually get this thread back on topic, I will say that while Twilight Princess was a quality title, I think the Zelda series could learn a thing or two from its students, Okami and Beyond Good and Evil. Both games have some interesting gameplay elements and refinements not present in Zelda, and both games are better in terms of character and story. Twilight Princess's story was just all over the place, and if Midna and the cutscenes were not so cool you wouldn't care about anything going on. In Twilight Princess' defense, the dungeons are more complex and it schools its peers in boss battles(which is impressive, considering that Okami and BG&E have some cool boss battles)
Someone already said Pikmin, guess I'll mention the characters from Skies of Arcadia and the original Grandia. I liked these kids because they were mostly just normal kids going on adventures. There weren't ex-mercenaries, or chosen ones, or whatever. Their character desings were not overdone or overly cute either. While the Final Fantasy games were giving us angsty characters with spiky hair, dark clothing choices and gimmicky swords, Grandia and Skies just had simple looking, charming kids with no angst whatsoever and nothing so silly sounding as a gunblade. I love the sense of wonder and excitement that those characters conveyed as they explored the world, and unlike many rpgs none of the characters were obnoxious.
While I enjoyed Grandia II, somehow Skies of Arcadia felt like more of a spiritual successor to the original Grandia than Grandia II did, despite being from a different company. My fave characters from Skies of Arcadia and Grandia were Feena, Leen, Justin, Aika and Gilder
For the record, I actually am a Final Fantasy fan even though I seem to be bashing the games a bit. It's just that as great as the Final Fantasy games are, they do have certain things that are easy to poke fun at
