You must have never met Wicket when you were a kid.

I wish I still owned that shirt.

Nice. No I never met Wicket but I did get to go on that simulator/ride thing at Disney Land.

It actually did.

Not the tits and ass part (although Leia bounced a lot).

Since a lot of people here know more about Star Wars than I, I would like to propose a questions.

What happened to Obi Wan in A New Hope when vanished upon contact with Vaders light saber? Why did this not happen to Luke in Empire Strikes Back? I think those were the only two incidents caused by light sabers in any of the original movies, or am I wrong?

You mean when Luke lost his hand? I assume because it was not a fatal blow but really I do not know. The only other time I saw a Jedi disappear in one of the movies was when Yoda died. That did not happen in the newer films did it?

When Vader died his body stayed though, well, his suit was burned, I assumed the body was inside, maybe not?

I think he was inside. It has been a while but I recall he took his mask off when he was dying and I dont recall him disappearing. Maybe because he was not a Jedi.

Because it gave Alec Guinness the classiest death scene ever?

Per the EU, he released his body into the spiritual plane. And since he did this willingly, instead of being forced to by death, he became more powerful, or some such hooey. This is the reason I badmouth most of the EU, that doesnt make any sense.

Maybe it was just cheaper than special effects for a body cut in half with a light saber?

You mean it was a possible deathscene Octopod, remember 1977 was 33 years ago.

Whats funny is if you look into how they made all the models for the dogfights, what use to cost $1000 and you had to special order, you can now do at home with stuff you can buy at a hobby shop for a couple hundred. Resin casting and vacuumforming have dropped in price severely in the past few years.
