Imgburn said it was really burning at 8x. It seems that the cds are probably crap. I tried burning a smaller game(Die Hard Trilogy) and the same thing happens. Someone told me that Black layered cds are the best for burning games. Ill waste even more money buying even more cds tomorrow lol (sony as people suggest on here have suggested). It says that 8x is ok to burn at in your guide thats why i'm sure/hope its the cd's.
If I can get Shining Force to work on my saturn than it be worth the money spent!
Sega Saturn Burning
Re: Sega Saturn Burning
Don't think black layered discs will make any difference. You are burning the image as the same region as your console right? It sounds simple but I just thought I'd check.

Re: Sega Saturn Burning
Thats Correct. I'll keep plugging away at it and let you guys know what happens when sony cdrs are used.
Re: Sega Saturn Burning
So I went and bought Some nice Sony CDR's. They look nice! Too bad they do the same as the others. Again shining force III says "now loading" then goes blank, you can hear the eye struggling to read it, the cd starts spinning slower, then "CD read Error"
I will download more games and try the guide more. Maybe someone can download the game and see if they get the same problem? I got it from http://roms.zophar.net/sega-saturn
Ill update once I try a few more games.
*update*
So it is definetly whenever a cinema scene happens at the beginning of a game where the game craps out. Could it be the laser eye?
*another update*
so I just decided to make a back up of my virtura cop game. And the back up does not work either, it says no loading please wait, and stays there. Does it sound like the burner to anyone?

Re: Sega Saturn Burning
sounds like its your saturn or your cd burner thats the problem then, maybe the laser i dont know. for comparison, my saturn would read 90% of games i burned from Verbatim, i only had a problem with a couple of games, which worked perfectly when i switched to Sony discs. i even burned them at 20x. try burning using a different computer/cd drive. if it still doesnt work then you know its the saturn.
Re: Sega Saturn Burning
What speed are you burning the games at? FMVs are notorious for skipping when a game is burnt at higher speeds. You need to burn at lower than 4x. Anything higher will cause movies to skip.
