Sega Saturn AV Cable Question

I was looking at the AV cable and noticed that it had only 3 pins where as the saturn slot for it had like 15 holes or so, is it just the 3 pins for video and stereo sound? are the extra holes for S-video or something?

Yeah, s-video and RGB. Only three pins needed for L, R, and composite video since the ring is ground.
