Indie Games

Post by cabrando »

Anyone else here into them? I just started watching a podcast called bytejacker whose focus is indie/downloadable games and I must say I am enjoying the games I've tried so far.

So far I've played Assassin Blue, Raider Episode 1, and Raider Episode 2. Anybody else have some good recommendations?

Love 'em! Some that I've played recently are Don't Look Back, VVVVVV, Cave Story, Spelunky, and the demo for Aquaria. The ones I've listed are top notch stuff! I'll have to try out the ones that you've listed.

The only indie games I've played are the recent DC releases. I'll check out that podcast though--it sounds cool.

I spend a fair bit of time playing indie games. You can get a whole bunch of very good games for free or cheap. I can't think of any games off the top of my head, but http://www.tigsource.com is a good place to keep an eye on for them.

There are too many good commercial games to play indie games,
indie games are good,
but now with the amazing emulation, backward compatibility, steam, and 20+ years of PC ,
There simply too many good commercial games to make time for indie ones.

Although they are good, its your choice really, but every one has only so much time in his life

You have to play Cave Story. Go download it now. You're at a computer, viewing Racketboy, aren't you? That means you have free time, and have no excuse to not be playing Cave Story.

I promise I won't pimp this every time someone mentions indie games, but it seems apropos:

Or, you can spare yourself my hot air and just check out the list of what was discussed:

I've been following the Indie Games blog lately myself. It's nice to take a little break from playing commercial releases.

Been enjoying Genetos and Mr. Kitty's Quest this week. :D
