OK R-Type fans. Found a copy of R-Types for PS1 (RT and RT2) down at ye local game shoppe. Is it worth picking up for $15? I'm going to try to talk them down to $10. They tend to give a little if you try sometimes.
I haven't played much RT but I figure this is the place to start.

Great, cheap introduction to the series - it contains the first two arcade games. Still tough as nails after all these years, but you can quarter-feed your way through them with this compilation. After getting the hang of these R-Types, try to find R-Type Delta for PS1 - another solid release.
Truthfully, the only R-Type you should avoid is the R-Type 3 port for GBA. It's a decent port, considering that the development team had ZERO source material from IREM - no source code, no sprites, no music, but it just pales in comparison to the original SNES release.
