It plays more like an NES Castlevania, but it's more smooth. Have it ever played Dracula X on SNES? I'd say it's similar to that. You can't jump onto stairs or whip up or diagonally like you can in 4, and you have to hold up and press whip to throw a weapon like in the NES games. If you're a fan of the series, it's a must have.
Currently, I keep dying at the end of stage 4. There difficulty settings and you can up the number of lives you start with, so the game isn't too hard. Unfortunately there's no save or password function.
You can acquire keys as a sub weapon (like in Rondo) to open locked doors. The locked doors either house an item (like an extra life) or an alternate route through the stage.

I just beat it on easy. Did any one else pick this up yet? I thought for sure there'd be a dozen people to talk about it with.

When I eventually buy a Wii I will be all over this game. As weird as it sounds, its one of the main reasons that I want the console!

Next time I'm over at the girlfriends, I know what I have to buy and play. Contra was amazing. I really need to pick up Graidus too.
I'm actually excited for this game.

Re: Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth - WiiWare
Just beat it for the first time, on medium. Actually a very good game, the first one to come out in a while that really feels like the classic ones (and even more so if you utilize the "classic" control style, which I found amusing). Overall a very well made, fun game. The music took a little getting used to, but I grew to like it. I'm also glad that Dracula was actually the hardest boss for once (instead of death), and the battle with him is actually one of my favorite in the series to date.
