Hey just got the Dreamcast yesterday, thanks Anapan! This is my first DC ever and I was wondering why it was mentioned in the lot when the DC was made. lol now I know... Turns out that stack of backups I got are the old ones so I can't play them
Is there a way to make the DC play the older backups or do I need to get new ones?

Unfortunately later DC's won't load any form of mil-CD (CD-R) at all and are hardwired to prevent it so it's a legit only machine.

Aahh, I thought you knew. Sorry 'bout that. Yeah, I even tried to author/compile some data-data boot cds and games and didn't have any luck. I mentioned it in the description, but that didn't make it into the first post. I'd be happy to send you all the programs and tutorials I gathered while the auction was going on trying to give it extra value. There's a few methods I never got around to trying, and some that were too ambiguous for me to follow, so there may still be some chance...

My copy of Final Fantasy VIII arrived today, cheers Anapan.
I was mildly disappointed that it was not complete (it did not have a manual) but what can ya do.

Huh, I thought it had the manual. I bought it new, so I'll dig around the area where I found and see what I can do about that.

Hey it's all good, it's just that I had MvC 2 and Capcom vs SNK backups just sitting there laughing at meAnapan wrote:Aahh, I thought you knew. Sorry 'bout that. P.S nice packaging job, I thought someone sent me a PS2 screen for no reason haha I was also surprised that it came from Canada because for some reason I thought you were in Japan.
