What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

at least the first film tried to do something interesting. It was basically a prequel, and they he tacked on an ending to please the studio. But the second film... I don't know what he was trying to do.

I just found HALLOWEEN to be stupid. Unlike other people who were against the idea of giving Myers a backstory, I decided to be open to the idea, with an attitude of "The Devil's Rejects showed that Zombie has learned how to make films". The film then disappointed me. The first half is just plain odd, taking forever to get anywhere, with too many characters that just aren't interesting - and what was with reusing all of the actors from Rejects? Tom Towles, Leslie Easterbrook, Bill Forsyth, Bill Mosely, and especially Ken Foree (we need to know where he gets his overalls? Really?) - none of them have any reason to be in Halloween. Instead the thrust of the original film, with a masked killer stalking teenagers, gets condensed and rushed - ten pounds of story in a five pound sack. The last forty minutes of Zombie's Halloween is Carpenter's film in fast forward, breezed through to the point of boredom. Zombie may well have great reverence for John Carpenter but doesn't know how to adapt the story, or how to come up with something new while still respecting the original.

well actor-wise, it should be pretty evident that RZ uses films as an excuse to hang out with all his friends (and wife). So no surprises. At any rate, it seems to me that RZ fans fall into one of two catagories:

1. (me) fans that prefer House Of A Thousand over Devil's Rejects and H1 over H2.
2. (not me) the other way around.

I almost dn't think he's good at making unique horror films. I think he's good at making comic-booky what-if's (H1) and outright homages (1k Corpses).

Well, I admit that it is difficult for me to take anything serious from a guy who calls himself Rob Zombie.

I had a friend in school named Kevin Zombie, so I guess it was never weird to me.

But that was his given name. Robert created a persona that he should have dropped after high school.

But Luke, Rob names his characters after Groucho Marx Characters. It is the only reason I have ever given his films a chance.

That is all well and good, but he is a grown man who can't disconnect himself from a childhood fantasy. It's just odd to me.

You realize the irony of posting that on this board, right?

I like retro games, and I am an adult, but I don't refer to myself as some fictional character.
