Sega Logo on my wall

Post by Incognito D »

I have a white fitted cupboard in my room of which the doors are currently completely blank and boring.
So I've had the bright idea of putting a massive SEGA on it to brighten it up.
I'm just wondering what everyone thinks the best way to go about it would be.
Right now I'm thinking either:

1) Draw it on and colour it in with paint by hand.
2) Buy some adhesive blue vinyl/plastic, cut it out and stick it on.

What does everyone think the best method would be? I'll be sure post pictures once it's done.

I would use the same kind if stretchy tape they use for automobile pinstripes and graphics. Then just paint the stencil. You'll get the best result using the tape and paint as opposed to drawing it out.

I'd go with option #2. If you end up hating it, you can always remove it.

You could just print out the Sega logo on your printer, and tape it to your cabinet with clear double sided tape.

Go the paint route. You'll be happiest with it. Oh, and you know what would be amazing? If you hooked up some switches so that when you close the doors it goes "SE-GA" (one for each door, make sure you properly split it).

That reminds me. I think Sega could reverse their fortunes if they brought back the lo-fidelity "Se-ga" sound for their commercials and game startup.

I've ordered some adhesive vinyl from ebay. I've printed out a massive Sega logo which I'll use as a stencil to cut out the design. Should be pretty straight forward.

And yeah, the old SE-GA! noise is definitely better than this:

Using some blue glow in the dark or blacklight paint would have cool effect as well.

That would actually be pretty cool, but could also get annoying depending on how bright the glow was!

Anyway, the stencil's printed off, cut out and is now serving as a prototype until the vinyl arrives and I can cut it out.

Sorry for the poor picture quality - the digital camera cable has gone missing so my phone will have to do :(

Why isn't the logo blue? Looks really good otherwise.
