I think I'm on chapter 6 of Valkyria Chronicles. I LOVE this game. In fact, it's been hard to get back to Dragon Age because of how addicting Valkyria Chronicles is. This game is polished to a shine. I have been A ranking every stage(because doing that on a new game plus would just be too easy) and I love the strategy that goes into it. GORGEOUS visuals, a soundtrack right out of the Final Fantasy Tactics playbook, great characters, original concept and a shout out to Skies of Arcadia. This game rocks.

This is what a Sega game is all about.

Ugh, I take back everything I said about Valkyria Chronicles. The reload times are AWFUL, and due to the trial and error nature of EVERY stage and the cheesy way the game makes your units randomly miss their attacks, you have to reload CONSTANTLY. You can't afford to ever miss an attack in this game, but the stupid game just randomly decides to make you miss every now and then.

Also, the chapter 7 boss fight is the cheapest, longest, most frustrating, god awful thing I have played in a game in a very...long...time. At this point, the game basically tells you to bend over for some rapeage.

F*** this game. Sorry for the rant, but a game hasn't pissed me off this much in a long time

Yes, that's the tank one.

Have you installed the game to your HDD? I never found the reload times to be too bad. Then again, I didn't care enough to score A ranks once I figured out that they were based on completing within X number of turns. I prefer using my units in a combined arms approach to wipe the enemy off the map. Except for the Jaeger mission. I rushed that fucker with the Edelweiss and barely managed to eck out a victory.

I mean the level is certainly hard, but possible obviously, I liked the trial and error method, it made me think!

Finished Riviera on Friday - good ending (Fia's). Watched the rest on YouTube; think I got the best.

Found myself putting Final Fantasy Tactics Advance into the cart-slot, just for a quick spin. Three days later, I've racked up almost ten hours.

Just a wee bit addictive, that game...

Yeah, that stupid tank one. Been away for awhile, so I'm late in responding. I'm pretty sure I installed it, but each reload takes about 30 seconds, which is completely unacceptable in a modern video game. The rank system sucks, it's completely at odds with the way the game is designed most of the time.

Having said that, I stuck with the game, but I used A rank video walkthroughs for a few of the stages as the game was pissing me off to the point where I don't think I would have continued playing it without some outside help. After watching a few, I discovered a few helpful tips that the game designers made very little effort in pointing out to players, like the fact that the radiators in that tank stage can be taken out with ONE scout grenade, while most players will go the logical route of trying to take them out with lancers which wastes four turns.

For all my anger towards the game, I have to say everything OTHER than the gameplay is awesome. Visually, the game is beautifully artistic and classy(the whole book theme is brilliant)and the story is really, really well down though the translation is a bit goofy and lazy in some parts. Whoever did the localization on this game, did an acceptable job, but not the best they could have. Bonus points for having the japanese language option available though, which is how I'm playing the game. The japanese cast sounds great. In fact, everything audio wise is great in this game

I appreciate the game taking a vastly different approach to strategy rpg gameplay. I really, really do, but damn is the gameplay frustrating at times. The story is keeping me playing this one though. It is damn hard not to like and care about the game's cast of characters.

I just beat Borderlands, and the 2nd playthrough is already as much fun as the original!

Borderlands is hardly an RPG, its a good game, but If you ask someone what genre it was if they could only pick one, FPS would be it. Good game none the less (Though the last battle was too easy).

im on the last disc of FF8, I have been playing backups so far but as I won a copy of it in the auction im waiting for it to arrive to finish her off. (This will be my 4th time completing the game).
