ok just got mine today - want to get home and start loading things on.

it came with firmware 1.2 i believe...im going to change the firmware to the custom one.

there is also a link where someone shows you how to install dingux w/o using the mini SD card - has anyone else done this? - link here.

im not that cluey on this thing as many others are telling me you NEED to have a mini SD card installed...i was hoping to install dingux without having to bother with it.

is the standard 1.2 firmware that bad that dual boot dingux needs to be installed>

I lost Dingux and have not been able to reinstall it. I have been using the native firmware ever since and have had absolutely no issues. The main complaint I hear is with some of the buttons not responding correctly on the SNES emulator, but I haven not had any issues. Also, you can remap the buttons easily when you push START and SELECT and it sounds like that fixes the problem completely.

I think the big thing is not that the native firmware is lacking (except the above issue), but that people want a ton more emulators for systems not included. I am mainly interested in Nintendo so it's not an issue for me, although I do wish I had a Genesis and Atari emulator on there, you think they would have been a no brainer.

yeah got it all sorted - had the custom firmware installed and have managed to sort out the Neo Geo ROMS which were the hardest ones...very good system so far. the only problem ive had is with some sound on SNES and Megadrive games...
