For all the people who are arguing with Inazuma, you might as well just go take your argument to 4chan. You might get a decent response.
I preferred Resident Evil 4 Wii, it's the only one I've enjoyed actually playing. All the others are just frustratingly awful to play. The controls suck. If you have the patience to thread a needle every time you need to shoot the guy with a massive axe swinging for your head then be my guest. The Wii controls on Resi 4 are superior to any of the games in the series. Just because you think you are t3h h4rdc0r3z t3h m4x0rz for playing it with an analogue stick controller doesn't mean it's better...
It would be like arguing that MW2 is better on consoles because analogue control is harder... um whu?
Actually the Gamecube version was better for me for a few reasons. For me the Gamecube controller on RE4 just felt right and the Wii controls felt a little wonky and forced. Its been awhile but, I think I remember having a issue with the button mapping. Also, I hated the big white reticule and preferred the laser sights, they should have given us a choice.
Having the addon content missing from the GC original was nice though. I have to say it looked much better on my CRT on my GC than my Wii on a LCD HDTV. Regardless on what system you play it on its still a great game and, its better than RE5 in every shape, way and form.

That's because your LCD HDTV is poor at upscanning SD content, whereas the CRT just displays it as native. That's got nothing to do with the game.

I realize that, I was just making a casual observation is all.

Uh, what? That doesn't make any sense at all. I much prefer Resident Evil 4 on the Gamecube to the Wii, and it's because I prefer the Gamecube controller. It allows me to be a lot more precise with my aiming. It's got nothing to do with how hardcore I am or any of that shit. Hell, anyone who can actually shoot exactly where they want to with that Wii Remote on the fly is more hardcore than me - to me, it was like trying to take out Sniper Wolf without using the Diazepam.
By the way, when you say "All the others", are you talking about all the other Resident Evils, or all the other versions of Resident Evil 4? Because you'll get no arguments from anyone else, the controls for every pre-Resident Evil 4 game sucked hugely. Resident Evil 4 on the Gamecube controlled nothing like every other RE game.
I don't quite agree with the wii being the better version. First of all, I haven't played it on the wii, but I've played the shit out of the ps2 version. If nothing else in the game was changed other than the controls, than that would mean all of the zombies react and come at you at the same speed. It obviously takes longer to aim with the analogue sticks than it does to just point and click, but that's where the satisfaction lies in having shot something. And the wii makes sense as a better control scheme for aiming, but then it makes the game easier than it already is which takes all the fun out of it. It's like removing the movement on a game a tetris and replacing it with touch placement. Again, I haven't played the wii version, this is just how I see it at the moment.
I meant all the other Resident Evils, the controls are terrible.
(-_-) is exactly what I meant by hardcore zealots. You'd rather play a game because the controls are harder? Do you get some sort of strange satisfaction knowing that you are making the game unnecessarily difficult for yourself? This has nothing to do with difficulty level, that's different. What I'm talking about is like playing command and conquer on the 360 and saying it's better than using a mouse because the controls are harder. Maybe it's just me, but that seems completely bizarre to me.
7k, regarding the Wii controls, maybe you need to calibrate your Wii, when I played it my crosshair was always rock steady. It may be that you're too far from your TV/Sensor bar or that your Wii remote was dirty, I only get get wobbly pointer on the Wii if I'm sat an awkward angle or if the sensor bar isn't all the way to the front of the TV and some of it is obscured.
Besides, the Wii version is the definite version anyway, since it has in game custscenes (the PS2 version has pre-rendered, so your costume changes don't affect the cut-scenes), plus it has all the content the PS2 version had and for the moaners you can just plug in a GC controller and play it like the GC version anyway.

Interesting - didn't know you could plug a GC controller in. I didn't know that because - ya know - they didn't put a GameCube controller in the top-right corner of the back case. I hate when they forget to do that crap.
I think you are wrong about the in-game cutscenes, however. Everytime I played with the unlockable costumes, the cutscenes would always revert me back to the normal outfits. I do remember being pretty peeved about that.
