Just buy the PS3. If Sony has their way, the PS4 won't be backwards compatible with PS3 games anyway, lol.

I don't think that Microsoft or Sony need to make any new machines, just bring out new models. Nintendo needs to release an HD Wii, but other than that, new models. If these game companies keep making new machines, it WILL become about the graphics, and we will loose gameplay. The video gaming industry is constantly being compared to the movie industry. Adam Sessler said it himself on X-Play, they need to wait at least another 10 years before releasing a new console.

And to answer your question, trust me, if any information leaks about a new console, the public will know. You will know just as soon as anyone else.

If you're on this site, you should know that a new console doesn't make the games on the old consoles unplayable. Besides, prices should only be going down from here. New consoles are always expensive.

Sessler is out of his mind if he thinks these consoles will make it to 2020. I understand that they can push consoles, but expecting a generation to last 13 years is silly. I am expecting the hints of them to be dropped this year and actually announced next year. And I am sure many of yall have had the same thoughts.

DSadvanced I am waiting for, but more importantly when does the DSiXL come out? Us badly myopic folks want to know.

with the rate the nintendo consoles are selling don't expect a new one until 2012-13.

likewise for playstation imo. they just started selling well. the psp is another story.

Maybe a certain company should find a way to keep there current console from breaking before designing a new one. Anyways, a new console cycle always means fragile, overpriced consoles and crappy launch games. Do you really need a new Ridge Racer? I say enjoy the current consoles for now. Prices are down, and some really good games are being released. Devs are just starting to get comfortable developing for these consoles and tapping the full power out of these systems. The games released a few years into the consoles life are usually some of the best games for the system, enjoy them.
