I'd say find a middle ground between a system you really enjoy, and has fairly inexpensive games. The Genesis is a pretty good one in that way (for me at least), the Gamecube has a really good quality/price thing going on also.

NOT a Jaguar! Where did you learn to drive!

I'd go with a Sega Genesis next. Lots of very solid games. If you want a good multiplayer system, then the Gamecube would be the way to go in terms of casualness.

And anyone who got the reference at the top gets a gold star.
Systems: SNES, PS1, GBA SP, Gamecube, DS Lite, Wii, PS3 (Fully Backwards Compatible), Dreamcast, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, a Sega CD, and a Sega Saturn.

I'm not feeling the GameCube Idea. Looking for something older. Genesis is a good idea. I know the popular stuff to look for (Sonic, Gunstar, Toejam ect.) but what about some more obscure stuff? (stuff that doesn't appear on the hidden gems list :D) Also, while I'm at it, has anyone else played "Chiki Chiki Boys"? I seem to be the only person who has played that game. I love it!

How expensive is it to start a Super Famicom or a Saturn collection?

Not too sure about Super Famicom. However, Saturn is cheap to start but expensive to complete.
