It isn't going anywhere anytime soon. A million + of these games were pressed and I'm sure sites like Amazon will have it in stock for a long time for cheap. If you think about it, if you really wanted the game wouldn't you have bought it already? Its been out for awhile and suddenly everyone wants it due to Nintendo's announment because people have the false impression that somehow it'll be rare in the future.

I just found out about this on destructoid (don't know how I missed it on Kotaku), and holy crap. They sold less than half a million copies!

Maybe Capcom wasn't blowing a load of smoke when they said that selling core titles on the Wii is difficult. Maybe we now have a reason for not seeing F-Zero, Star Fox and other 'core' titles on the Wii.

I know a lot of people have said "Well, I already had all the previous games - I didn't feel the need to get the collection", but consider that a similar title - God of War Collection - has already surpassed Metroid Prime Trilogy in sales despite only recently coming out. Seems pretty damn discouraging, especially if the game was being sold for as little as it apparently was.

Its really a great game and I'm sad to hear it didn't sell well. Though most publishers would kill for 500,000 games sold on the Wii. Three great games for the price of one is a great deal. The Wii seems has the weirdest customer base of any console ever.

I think the people who would buy this kind of game also own a PS3 and or 360 as well. And most people would rather play a shooter with high def, top of the line graphics. While Metroid Trilogy has some great graphics and gameplay the Wii simply cannot offer the current gen gaming experience most people are looking for.

I got it a few weeks ago just for the fact of knowing it would be a GOOD title on the wii...which we wall know is hard to come by without searching. Yet I own a 360 and no one in the house has really touched it latly. The wii is love or hate, its no real in the middle in my opinion. But in all reality...dont ALL wii titles have a short life span? Some titles if you want "new" now you have to pay 70-80$ for to get from ebay or amazon, and even used prices sit at 40$. Its not like this is the first wii game to have a short shelf life.

Nintendo seems to do a lot of limited print runs for some of their games with marquee names. Seems kinda odd, to be honest...

Thats what I am saying, it seems like they want to "try" to make a game become rare to make people want to hunt for nintendo stuff...or, the smarter thing to do, show that they wont keep games in stores long...to bump up sales quickly, and THEN by pulling production on it they wont lose aLOT of money. Reguardless I know most of the games I have now have been pulled off the shelf, and some I have just been REALLY lucky to find. Take smooth moves...granted the game is REALLY old now, but people JUST now getting wii's want it and are having to goto used places NO stores have it. I found ONE walmart near me that had 5 copies in the case. No kmart, no best buy, no other walmarts, no toys r us, NO ONE had this...but ONE walmart. Either its a GREAT way to make money and continue the life span of the wii...or...it will be a huge downfall.

lost within: Actually, Wii games (well, first party Wii games) tend to have very long life spans. Games like Mario Kart Wii and Smash Bros Brawl stayed on the Top 10 weekly sales charts for extraordinarily long times - hell, they could still be up there. I'd imagine New Super Mario Bros Wii will have similar success.
