i remember a time when i was a kid beating Tetris on gameboy and finally watching the space shuttle launch (which didnt make sense to me, lol) was a huge achievement at that time.

I know its not a big deal these days, but dont we all remember when we were kids that simple achievments such as finally beating Mike Tyson, or finishing super mario bros. was such a huge deal?

These days we can just laugh at those achievements, but for the time it was so special.

Anyways as a kid (about 13 not sure exactally) beating Mike Tyson was probabally the biggest thrill of all. Of course with the secret code 007 373 5963 (no i didnt just look that up) helped me face Tyson enough to beat him.

What amazes me is that if i picked up my NES right now i wouldnt be able to beat Mike Tyson. i would have to play it over and over again!!

Edit to previous post, meant Donkey Kong Country 2 100%

You know I forgot about that secret code. Really handy.

Here's the funny thing Claudio, I find that when I go back and play certain games that I just automatically remember everything. it's like your brain just accesses an old file it hasn't used in ages and re-downloads everything. Other games though, I go back and it's like playing the game for the first time. Weird

I was going to say. You'd have to be a God to beat the first one 100% without a guide! Is DKC2 like DKC3, where they tell you how much progress you made with the flags and such? :?:

I don't remember actually, and I never played DKC 3. I might pick that game up sometime.

I think I had maybe 97% on DKC 1. I felt like I had explored everywhere, but I never got that 100%. Drove me nuts, but once I finished DKC 2 100%, I got over it.

Not one of mine, but my cousin managed to beat Attack of the Killer Tomatoes for the NES.

I want to say he beat Super Glove Ball using the Power Glove, but I'm not 100% on that one.

Truthfully, I think either of those would fit in the shame thread as well.

have to say it... brag worthy? I hope so...

I think I'm addicted hardcore to tetris again... I've been playing it daily for no reason what so ever (this is the Nintendo release version on the NES) and I'm happy I'm getting so far... BUT I can't get passed level 29.

It's like the pieces just move too fast. If I hold the right button down the piece doesn't even make it to the right side of the screen... seriousily is it even possible to go any further? If you can't get the damn piece to the right side how can you ever make a line... let alone a tetris (which I wouldn't DARE try on level 20+)

Anyways:

level 29
score: 767,773

I actually went through the first 19 level only making tetris's!

Which version of Tetris Lordofduct?

I wouldnt say it is brag worthy but I do believe there is a pattern to the pills that they give you in Doctor Mario. My older brother use to play it alot and use to be able to tell you the pill coming up fairy accurately.

Just recently realized that there were still a few odds and ends left for me to do in Final Fantasy 12. I figured I had already beaten the game's toughest challenges, but learned that a certain weapon called the danjuro was causing lots of horror stories for FF 12 players. It is the game's strongest dagger, but is also considered the most difficult item in the game to acquire.

On my third night of attempting this, I just nabbed one about ten minutes ago. For anyone reading this who is familiar with the difficulty of acquiring this weapon, I highly recommend the Necro division method which can be found on youtube. It is MUCH quicker and less tedious than some of the other insane methods out there. With that out of the way, and all of the strongest optional bosses taken down, whatever other little odds and ends are left for me to do should be pretty easy. I think I've just about maxed this game out.

I also defeated Contra: Shattered Soldier recently, good ending. Haven't S ranked the whole game yet though. I have managed to get all three characters of The Red Star to level 14 with S ranks though.

Well, that's about it. This is a fun topic that needed another resurrection.

My achievements are crap compared to everyone else's.

I've completed Amplitude on insane mode and 3 barred Komputer Kontroller.
I've grand mastered every level with both Rikimaru and Ayame on Tenchu: Stealth Assassins.

I wish I could:
4 bar Komputer Kontroller.
Get the top score on Tekken Bowling.
Complete Blaster Master on NES. Actually, I'd be satisfied if I could beat damn Frozen Crabullus just once.
