didn't we have this conversation a while ago?
Yeah, some people came up with idea a couple of years back. If I remember right, Lordofduct even came up with some preliminary designs. Unfortunately the idea never got off the ground.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

And probably won't.

Like Racketcon, it's just an idea that people aren't committed to.

I'm going to research this some. I have friends who've made shirts in bulk before and sold them. Honestly, all I really need are some designs first. I'd like to let Racketboy at least ok the idea and then give which ever design his seal of approval.

Anyone who's serious about this can PM me. I'll give you my contact info and we can brainstorm some. If Racketboy really isn't into the idea I can respect that and we'll stop it.

so how did sevin and you would have design this t-shirt if racket AKA nick would had said yes?

The plan was to do the site logo. I asked if he had a larger version of it or could tell me the typeface used so I could create a larger one. I think Sevin just had in mind to use Cafe Press for about 5 shirts. One for each winner, one for each of us, and one for Nick.

Obviously something better would need to be done if more were being made. But making a pile of shirts will be expensive and then you have to store them while they slowly sell. And they would be slow selling over the internet no matter how many of us regulars pledge to buy one. I imagine that what, 40 of us say we'd buy one and maybe 50% would follow through? If Fastbilly or someone took some to a convention that would move more, but even a run of 100 would probably take a while to sell.

Site logo? The text just reading Racket Boy? We can do way better than that.

If people are actually serious about making a few T-Shirts, I've consulted for a creative design firm that, possibly, could design a racketboy logo. They still owe me a few K's, so the design would be free.

Well, in the case of the contest, it was only going to be 5 of them. :P

Yeah, I figured 100 would be the lowest number a good t shirt company would be willing to print. I have some friends who are always getting shirts made so I'll ask them. They use american apparel and their shirts are way better than most. I have one long sleeve that fits great and doesn't feel like a crappy generic T.
