Like noiseredux, I consider myself a gameboy fan above all else. The system that got the most mileage from me as a kid. I guess I always associated in my head that "video games= handheld", despite that being blatantly false. Meh.

I don't have it anymore, but after I sold it as a little kid to buy more NES games, I so regretted getting rid of it, that I never sold my games anymore after that.

Re: What game/system started you off on collecting?
When my last girlfriend and I moved in together (2006), I discovered a Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo mixed in with her stuff that came from storage. She only had a few games for each system so I thought it would be cool to start checking out some local game stores and pawn shops to try to hunt down some old classic games. To my surprise, I found a lot of good ones for cheap, and once I started playing them it's like I suddenly became 12 years old again. I got bit by the "Retro Bug."
Since then it's been almost like a journey. When it's payday and I have some extra cash to spend, I like to drive around and hit all the local game stores and pawn shops to go bargain hunting. It's fun and it gives me something to do... now that my girlfriend has left me.

I always equated video games as consoles, but the GB always had the best library. Which is why I love the GBPlayer so much.AmishSamurai wrote:Like noiseredux, I consider myself a gameboy fan above all else. The system that got the most mileage from me as a kid. I had the urge to play Super Mario Bros so I chucked it on a NES emu and played it, didnt like it so I went out to a flea market and got a NES, then I wanted Sonic, same deal bought a Megadrive and it went from there and I became set on buying all the consoles I had when I was a kid, then I wanted the ones I didnt have, then I wanted ones that had the good fighters, now I want it all.

My Sega Genesis I got for Christmas so many years ago when it was new. I never got rid of it and have been collecting it an many other systems ever since. I wish I'd gotten into cosole gaming with the SMS. I was not a kid when I got my Genesis so I could have enjoyed the SMS as an adult as well.
Ow! My small intestine!

I started collection since I got my SNES and Genesis with Super Metroid and Sonic 2 when I was 5 or 6.
