Does anybody knows if the game was really release in JPN for the MD?
I know it was in Europe for the MD and worldwide for the SFC/SNES (outer world) but I cannot see anywhere the MD JPN version.
Does anyone has information or pictures?
Ok sorry guys, I x2 check the MD game list and the game was released in the US and EU only for the MD, if Wiki is correct.
Follow up question would then be, does anyone knows if the US/EU version of the game works on a JPN console w/o adapter?
Another World for JPN Megadrive
Re: Another World for JPN Megadrive
My understanding is if you do the 50/60hz mod (which you wouldnt have to do with a JPN console as it runs at 60HZ off the bat, unless you want to run the PAL version as some games wont boot unless in the correct mode (you swap it to 60hz once the game has started) as well as a region mod your console should be able to play close to every game (of course only if the cart fits, you might have to do some filing to get it to fit.).
So I would say yes.
Check out MMMONKEY's website (google search) to find out how to do the mods on your console.

According to Mobygames it was called Outer World in Japan.

The wiki for Retro Game Master also references it in season 7.

Would this be the same situation as Shinobi and Streets Of Rage (Change the region it changes the title)?Hobie-wan wrote:According to Mobygames it was called Outer World in Japan.

Sources say the name was changed in the US to avoid confusion with the daytime soap "Another World". Japanese name change wasn't mentioned.emwearz wrote:Would this be the same situation as Shinobi and Streets Of Rage (Change the region it changes the title)?

Re: Another World for JPN Megadrive
Thanks for the answers guys
so after checking various listings, it looks like Another World (or Outer World or Out of this World) was not release on the JPN Megadrive, but only for the US and EU models.
disappointment.......
I guess I will have to play the game on the SFC cause for various reasons I am not so keen on modding my MD.

Re: Another World for JPN Megadrive
Modding my megadrive was the best thing I ever did!
I done the 50/60 Hz switch and the jap/eng switch, fitted rca outs (stereo sound) and over clocked it.
I also live in the Uk so use the rgb scart lead for it.
Modding it is easy and very subtle and I FULLY recommend anyone with a MD/Genesis to mod it. I couldn't go back to a standard one, I have tried and its awful.
