Saturn door stuck

Post by Kagi »

Hello, I'll start off by saying that because of racketboy.com I've gotten really into my saturn again. Its been about close to 6 years since I played it last. Burning Rangers and Nights into Dreams always kept me searching for a higher score. So I've taken it out of storage (I always kept my older systems in good condition) and the first problem I had with it was the door is stuck close. Seems as though the button won't release the latch anymore. Now I haven't been able to open up the system and take a look inside yet but I plan on doing that later today to try and fix this and also to look at the chip to see if I can mod it. I would imagine this is pretty easy to fix.

I do know that I am breaking the rules of the forum a bit with out telling you exactly what is wrong with the button/latch. I was just wondering if any one had similar problems and what they did to fix it.

You won't know until you open it, I had problems like that with old PS1's, a LITTLE cooking oil on the tabs fixed it

Is it really stuck or does it open when you tip it over? I had trouble with my Dreamcast after painting it and it turned out the spring was out of place. The botton wouldn't open the door but holding the button and tipping the system over got it working.
