G Darius or Raycrisis

These two games are just in my price range, but do not know which one to get. Has anyone played both enough for an opinion?

I personally like raycrisis better, but you could get G darius as part of Taito Legends 2. No PS1 bonuses though.

Yes you loose the PS1 bonuses, but you also get Darius Gaiden so you get another of the best SHMUPS ever as well.

Another vote for Raycrisis, even though the end boss will chew you up and spit you out.

Also, I agree to pick up the Taito Legends for the Darius entries on both of them as they can be had for cheap.

I choose G-Darius. I have both, and RayStorm is so much better than RayCrisis.

I'd choose G Darius if it wasn't on Taito Legends 2. So another vote for Raycrisis here - unless you don't have a PS2. In that case, definitely G Darius.

Both are really great shmups, IMO. But get G. Darius first. You have a choice of getting the original PS1 game (getting higher in price everyday), or playing the much-smoother port in the Taito Legends 2 pack for the PS2. The game's replay value is much better. You can choose different paths by selections different Zones to play thru. Therefore, there are 5 or 6 (haven't played it in a while) different final bosses to challenge. I'm a HUGE fan of the laser battles you can have with each boss in the game. Excellent eye-candy! The soundtrack is very atmospheric and great. All in all, a fantastic game.

But get RayCrisis afterwards too. Also a great shmup. Hell, you might as well pick up RayStorm while you're at it. Another above average shmup for the PS1. You can't go wrong with either game.

Just ask yourself if you'd rather play a vertical or horizontal shmup. That should make your decision alot easier.
