Games that could make good movies.

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Games that could make good movies.

Post by ClaymoreClay »

Hey everyone lets start a list of games that could make for a good movie. Assuming Hollywood wouldn't screw it up. I'll start it off.

Fallout 1,2, & 3 (preferably 2)
Kane & Lynch: Dead Men
Operation Flashpoint
Far Cry 2
Any of the Stalker games
BioShock
Battle Tanx
Perfect Dark (Maybe)
Metal Gear Solid 3

That second Street Fighter movie really killed all faith I had in video game to movie adaptations.

A movie set in the final fantasy world could be cool. The Final Fantasy they did release didn't seem to have anything to do with the game and Advent Children was like a Final Fantasy game that only had cutscenes. Still, the series has promise because a movie wouldn't have to be tied to any particular game story or pre-existing characters since Final Fantasy rarely has the same characters (aside from Cid). It would only need to include the signature creatures and inventions from the Final Fantasy universe. Basically a screenplay could be written to be a good screenplay and bypass the whole need to try to do a better retelling of what happened in the game and just use Final Fantasy for the setting. The same could also be done with the Shin Megami Tensei universe.

I want to see Uwe Boll make a movie based on Tony Hawk's Pro Skater.

Seriously. I'd love to see what that becomes.

Hmmmm...

Total Recall
Terminator
Terminator 2
Star Wars
The Empire Strikes Back
Super Return of the Jedi
Predator
Jurassic Park
Aladdin
Toy Story
Willow
Back to the Future

I can imagine any one of these as a good movie...

Portal is already a movie on its own, so I won't even bother.
