Just ordered my Sega Saturn Modchip

^.^ i am so excited even though i know its going to take weeks which will all be so so painful.

I've already got some awesome games to try and am still trying to find a single legit game under $100 in actual stores here...

So i know not to bend the modchip too much or it'll break.. any other tips i should know before i get it?

I've been soldering since i was about 6 so i know what i'm doing half the time and i've been using the same ion that my dad used for most of his life so its nothing fancy but it gets the job done(if anyone knows how to get heat contact to work on both sides of the tip again it would really help).

I am in brisbane australia so pretty much every arcade is stacked with old neogeo MVS's and system 16's and i guess the retailers just know the demand there is for these old games(alot of things shot up 40% when nintendo said they'd support emulation).

One question... how big is the package the modchip comes in?

i want to know because most of the postmans here are retarded and can't fit a CD package into my massive parcel slot so is it around the size of 20 standard letters atop each other or bigger?

IIRC Racket put it in a small padded envelope when I got mine. The chip itself is only say 2.5 by 4 cm.

AND NOW ITS HERE!

Yesterday i got it in the mail in a huge package soft package. the mod-chip had been wrapped in 2 chopping bags and 2 layers of bubble wrap(the package alone has another layer of bubble wrap built in).

I installed it without solder by just linking the A and B with a clip, but it did not work. I then soldered the signal wire onto what i think was the 14th pin by placing 2 peaces of paper ether side so there was no spillage and this time soldered the power wired on to the under side of the power pack.

What concerned me the most is how thin that chip is... i think it should come in a steal or plastic casing for insertion as the only way i was going to get it in without breaking was to use my thumb nail to push against the protruding IC pins on the back as its the closest thing to the base of the PCB(push anywhere else and it bends).

Anyway it works 100% now and i burnt 7 games(i only own 3 of those legit but they were NTSC-J copys and i has a PAL) at 16x and they all work perfectly. ^_^
