Ok so I'm around the 3hr mark (where I usually determine if I'm going to finish a game) of AA and am finding it very, very boring. Everything is great except the gameplay. So far I have basically followed bread crumb trails, hit RB to fly up on stuff, drop down and mash X to defeat enemies, and repeat.
With all the rave reviews I want to see if it has more to offer, but as of now it's not doing anything for me.

Why would you play it for 3 hours if you think its that boring?cabrando wrote:Ok so I'm around the 3hr mark (where I usually determine if I'm going to finish a game) of AA and am finding it very, very boring. Sorry I just don't understand that.

Well, not much you can do about that.cabrando wrote:Everything is great except the gameplay.

Yeah- the basic game play won't change. You get the drop down from gargoyle ability, and then the rest are pretty much powerups of already existing weapons. What you are playing now is the whole game.
Did you fight bane yet? Because pretty much every boss is bane over and over again. Big gun runs at you, throw a batarang and dodge.
Exactly. You can only play a boring game for so long despite getting all the lore right.Dylan wrote:Well, not much you can do about that.cabrando wrote:Everything is great except the gameplay.
I honestly didn't understand the fanfare either. I think it was just a slow year for gaming, That coupled with a batman licensed game that wasn't horrible made people freak out a little. It is one of if not the best batman game since consoles made the jump to 3-d, but that is a pretty low bar.

I found the game kinda bland myself.

Yes you're obviously missing something...
AA is incredible. What don't you like about it?

Maybe because he wanted to give it a fair shot, and he hoped that it would get better at some point?RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Why would you play it for 3 hours if you think its that boring?cabrando wrote:Ok so I'm around the 3hr mark (where I usually determine if I'm going to finish a game) of AA and am finding it very, very boring. I don't think 3 hours is that long at all. When you factor in all the game cut scenes and all the short breaks to grab another beer and take a piss. I'd say 3 hours is a realistic amount of time to determine whether a game may be worth finishing or not.

I found it pretty boring too. The atmosphere and story were good, but the gameplay was meh. I had the same reaction to the Uncharted games.

Agreed. Younger gamers expect instant gratification, but sometimes you have to give the game a fair shot.Weekend_Warrior wrote: Maybe because he wanted to give it a fair shot, and he hoped that it would get better at some point?

AA is really repetitive. I thought it was over rated as well.
Re: Arkham Asylum - Am I missing anything?
it is repetitive , but its still a fun little game guys, think about it, its a good super hero game, how many of those do we get in this life
