Can someone set me straight.
I have the SNES GB player. It doesn't play GB Color games. Thats fine.
What does the GC GB player do that's so special? I hear it doesn't even play GBA games. Do I want this? I have GB Color Zelda games, and a few others but play them on my Game Boy Color.

Re: GC GB player quesions
I just got a Gamecube Gameboy player and it does play gameboy advance games, gameboy color games, and regular gameboy games. I got mine at gamestop for only 10 bucks. I think it was worth it. Some gameboy advance games have options to optimize the graphics if you play on a regular tv through the gamecube gameboy player. I know final fantasy tacitics advance has this feature.

Often wikipedia is not a reliable source either.lwcook wrote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_Boy_Player

Sorry, I don't have any information regarding op question I just thought that was funny.
Re: GC GB player quesions
As stated, the GB player does play GBA games, as well as GB color and plain old GB ones.
Re: GC GB player quesions
Yep, it lets you pick LCD A (GBA classic), LCD B (frontlit GBA SP) or TV Mode for the GB Player.kgcarini wrote:Some gameboy advance games have options to optimize the graphics if you play on a regular tv through the gamecube gameboy player. I know final fantasy tacitics advance has this feature.
I actually use TV Mode for my AGS101 Backlit GBA SP, as it provides the best contrast.

The Game Boy Player pretty much does everything a Game Boy Advance does. It allows you to play Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance games on the Gamecube. The games/accessories it won't accept are rumble and motion-sensor games like Yoshi Topsy-Turvy, Boktai games, GBA Video movies, game boy micro, the camera and few other minor things. In addition, it allows you to control the game via GC controller, GBA or GBA SP and allows for much simpler multi-player. It allows for multiplayer and can even accept the E-Read accessory. Heck, it even added rumble to a few select GBA games.chupon wrote:Can someone set me straight.

For the cheap price these are going for it's well worth the money and makes the Gamecube, in my opinion, one of the best systems available. I would implore anyone that has a Gamecube and a Game Boy library to pick up one of these.

I did not realize this!!
Re: GC GB player quesions
Technically it does accept the rumble and motion sensor games, it just means you have to hold the Gamecube to use them. I've seen videos of playing WarioWare Twisted on a Game Boy Player. GBA Videos definately don't work though, for licensing reasons.

I stand corrected. Would all of that handling of the GC be considered the precursor to Wii Fit?MrPopo wrote:Technically it does accept the rumble and motion sensor games, it just means you have to hold the Gamecube to use them.
