Ok, so after I had done all of my Christmas shopping I had a good chunk of my bonus left over and I decided to get something I have been wanting for a LONG time: Gamecube component cables. I will go ahead and say these things are great. To be able to use my GB Player and emulators with no lag is amazing, and the collector in me couldn't help but be happy. WAY higher progressive scan quality VS my PS2 across the board.
Now for the crappy part. Usually the whole family gets together at my grandmas for christmas, but due to bad weather nobody went until New Years Eve. I was not able to make it because I had to go back to work. If you must know I get maybe 5 days off a year from the animal shelter I work at. Anyway my parents brought back my families gift from my grandmas.................a fucking Wii.
Dont get me wrong, Im damn excited to get a Wii and Im sure I will enjoy it, but that $60 set of GC component cables feels pretty damn dumb right about now since I already have some universal ones that work with the Wii. Oh well, maybe I will have that game room someday and put them to good use.
Damnit.
Re: Damnit.
ha. At least you are up one wii? I actually don't play many gamecube games on my wii. You might be better off keeping them separate. With only my wii plugged in, I don't even think about playing gamecube games.

thats what i was thinking, since he did mention using the gameboy playerMrHealthy wrote:Wii can't use the GB player, so those cables are still of use.

I got super lucky to find my Official Gamecube Component Cable for $15. Game Boy Advance and Color games look better than on their original system! I would highly recommend keeping the cable.

If that's super lucky, then I got INSANELY lucky when a local GameStop had a set for $5.

Re: Damnit.
This is why I will be keeping them. Before I got them the lag was just awful. I would say about half a second before my actions took place in the game. I also love the SD Media Launcher and use my GC for emulators frequently, which also had severe lag.MrHealthy wrote:Wii can't use the GB player, so those cables are still of use.

It's nice the the Wii plays GC games, but I find it to be a pain. Having the controllers plugged into the side/top like that makes me nervous, and a wireless dongle just looks stupid. I'd definitely keep the gc plugged in someplace. I've been planning on sticking one on a smaller tv I have hanging around when I get a Wii so I don't have any wired controllers in my living room at all.
