Good videos. 40 minutes of straight soldering sounds rough; did you take any breaks?

The 40 mins was to cut the wires, tin them and connect to the 48 solder points (96 soldering joints in total). No, I can spend hours at a time just soldering or whatever sometimes!

Oh, Bac, something I forgot to ask on the last video. Why do you remove the existing heat plates from the chips?

They are rediculously thick, and heavy, they also don't work very well

Going to test how good the system works with 0.9mm thick copper as the heatsink, otherwise will need to put in heatsinks. The stock plates are thick and ineffective in comparision with other methods.

Board trimming.
Powering the board.
Connecting video and audio.
Heatsinks and cooling.

Yes DNT, I work fast in modding, thing is though, making a video guide means, like the last video, 40 mins modding = about 6 hours work (preparation, planning, video clips, redo video clips, etc). This is why a project I could complete quickly will take literally ages - several weeks.

If there was a way to show YouTube videos on the forum in the posts I would do.

A while back, a few guys said they were going to make an N64 system using my guides - I am curious as to if this is still the situation, out of interest?

I was planning on doing so. But I'm going to wait until the whole video series is out and I've reviewed everything a few times before I take the plunge. I've had mixed luck with modding projects in the past, so I definately want to get this one right.

Progress is slow because of the video guides and i'm making this video guide as simple as it gets, that takes loads of time to complete.

I have Monday for project work, so anticipate covering maybe two more videos then; maybe three, as these videos concerned will be fairly short ones.

I anticipate the next three videos will be:

Audio and Video output
Powering the system
Board trimming

Then, I can deal with heatsinks, and experiment with a different method of cooling the system, using copper....
