My writing and spelling still suck. It is amazing that I have even managed to pass English Comp.
Back to school
Re: Back to school
Well, this semester is almost over. I just have a few assignments to finish up and a couple of finals to take. I do not know my GPA yet but I have A's in all of my classes. I am hoping to do some honors work next semester in the hopes that it will look good on a resume. I am ready for a break too. I do not even want to finish up the assignments I have left.
Ever since Thanksgiving break I have felt really lazy about school. Oh well, two assignments and two finals and I have over a month off until spring.

Re: Back to school
I'm still in High School, but I'm taking a Japanese language course at a local college. I just took my final exam today, and I definitely aced it.

I'm learning Japanese this year, via Rosseta Stone. It's working out decently, so far. It only does a good job teaching the speaking half, but it does an awful job teaching the written half. I've had to buy a book to learn that part. So, because of this, I have a greater knowledge of Romanji spelling than anyone could really need.Octopod wrote:lisalover1 wrote:I'm still in High School, but I'm taking a Japanese language course at a local college. Nice job.I tried to learn Japanese from one of those CD/book combo things a couple years back and it did not work out for me.

I got my GPA. I got a 3.92. Not bad for returning to school after a long break I think. I am very happy. Ok, enough bragging, sorry.

You have every right to brag. Going back to college has to be much harder than going to college for the first time.Octopod wrote:I got my GPA. I got a 3.92. Not bad for returning to school after a long break I think. I am very happy. Ok, enough bragging, sorry.

I am not sure if that is the case or not. I guess if you have been in school the whole time things are still fresh in your mind but I also think that instructors take it easier on older students.

I'd like to go back someday, I've been working the same job (social worker) senice i've been out of high school for the same company, I make a pretty good pay (11.00) but I don't think i'd be able to carry that with me if I ever move out of the area I'm, I really don't know what else i'd be good at, i like my job but I'd like to have an other skill that could make me better pay, thought about IT but im HORRIBLE at math, but its all shit im looking into thoe.
Re: Back to school
Well, the second semester is wrapping up. I have another final to take tomorrow for English Comp 2 and one for my online Information Security class, the other classes are already all done. Pretty sure I did the same this semester as last. I did not end up doing any honors work but I probably should have, maybe in the fall. I did win a scholarship for an essay I wrote and that is pretty cool imo.
I ended up registering for two classes this summer. They do not run concurrently though, the first one last 5 weeks then the second one kicks in and runs 6 weeks. I am starting to think about schools to go to after I get my associates. I am currently considering UMASS Lowell or North Eastern but I am not sure yet. Anyone go to school in the Boston area and have any advice?
