Tetris DS on eBay
Ok so I used to have this game for the DS awhile back but lost it. I was looking on eBay for it and a ton of the results are shipped out of Hong Kong or China! They are pretty cheap and places like GameStop and Amazon are charging really high prices for them. They say the games in english, but are they bootleg copies or what? And alot of them have prices listed in AU $$ instead of USD$$

I noticed this too because I was trying to get one for a Christmas present... I assume that any copy shipping out of Hong Kong/China is a bootleg version so I was looking more at the higher priced items.
Re: Tetris DS on eBay
If they're out of HK or China, then yes, it is likely that they are bootlegs.

I wonder what they look like. All they have is stock photos to go off of. Would there be any real problems with playing a bootleg cart? Or would it be like playing a authentic copy?

Sometimes the carts are a *slighty* different size and feel a bit tighter/looser when you put them in your DS. Also, the batteries end to be cheaper so your save games might not save/hold their data for long. For action games like Tetris, you might be fine, but EVER buy a bootleg RPG and expect your saves to hold. Plus, buying bootlegged carts of newer games is just wrong. It's supporting theft, pure and simple.Betamax001 wrote:I wonder what they look like. All they have is stock photos to go off of. Would there be any real problems with playing a bootleg cart? Oh, I just assumed they did like most other cartridge systems. I looked into it and apparently they use flash memory or EEPROM. I must be living in the past!vlame wrote:ds carts have batteries? O_o

Yep, and if they use a clock it just grabs the time from the DS upon boot up.Breetai wrote:Oh, I just assumed they did like most other cartridge systems. I looked into it and apparently they use flash memory or EEPROM. I must be living in the past!vlame wrote:ds carts have batteries? O_o

Re: Tetris DS on eBay
The game is out of print and demand has caused prices to go up. Heck even GameStop wants 45 bucks for it.Breetai wrote:Betamax001 wrote: Plus, buying bootlegged carts of newer games is just wrong. It's supporting theft, pure and simple.
