Re: XBLA roms
You can't, there's no use for them, the raw files are the same as trial or demo versions allowing a level or two etc. when you buy an XBLA game the licence for it is stored on the consoles motherboard (in the TSOP or somewhere) that opens up the trial version into the full game. As it stands there's no way to write to the motherboard memory so all torrented XBLA games would be demos and you can get them free from XBLA

Re: XBLA roms
I've been looking into this process ever since my XBL ban. The good news is, it's entirely possible, and most XBLA roms have been dumped, and they can be installed via a disc. The bad news is that you have to install a software mod on the 360. You have to perform a hack called a "JTAG" hack, and also install a homebrew bootloader called "Freeboot", or "XBReboot". It's complicated, but supposedly worth it.
Here's a tutorial on how to install XBReboot:

This is all interesting, perhaps XBMC will be coming home after all...lisalover1 wrote:I've been looking into this process ever since my XBL ban. Re: XBLA roms
We can only hope. XBMC is the best thing that ever happened to the original Xbox, so everyone really wants it to get on the 360. Hopefully other homebrew will follow; it would be awesome to see what kinds of emulators are possible!
Re: XBLA roms
I hope they find an easier way of getting the hack running, it'd be quite difficult to find a 360 that's not been updated. and it's not fully compatible with the more reliable Jasper chipset...
When they get Linux fully up and running I guess we'll see what's do-able by poking around the hardware

Re: XBLA roms
This mod is only in its early stages yet, only recently the copy protection was finally cracked (up until now what they did was just flash the drive to make it think our dvd-r's were actually official xbox discs, you couldn't mess with anything else). So, yeah, it's starting well (only took 4 years ^^) and we can only hope it gets better quickly.
Re: XBLA roms
well if my 360 is hacked like that...where do i get these xbla games from?
