Re: Rarest Dvd or Movie You Own
I dont buy too many DVDs because Netflix pretty much killed buying them for me. I have no need unless for some odd reason Netflix doesnt carry it. But I have all the Geneon Lupin DVDs. They're not rare, but they are out of print since they went belly up. They probably wont reissue the series because it wasn't terribly popular in the US. Though maybe Discotek or FUNimation will put out a nice big box of the episodes they DID dub.

I'm getting a little sick of NetFlix. Don't get me wrong, I love it. But just the fact that you HAVE to keep getting movies. Even if I don't feel like it and keep the DVDs at my house for a while, I'm still paying for it. I was considering downgrading my account for a while, or even putting it on hold.
Re: Rarest Dvd or Movie You Own
I own a ton of ADV releases, and since they have gone under, the prices have started to rise.
That's the closest I can think of, honestly. I'd bet I have some rare VHSs, but I doubt any of my DVDs are.

I recently got a Hall and Oates Liberty Concert on Laserdisc from 1985. I have found very little info about it other than it was released both on VHS and Laserdisc and has long been out of print. I believe the LD was only released in Japan. That has to be the rarest movie I own.
Re: Rarest Dvd or Movie You Own
I tracked down a dvd of Nemesis....that's almost rare.

One of the best movies from the 80's! I would love to have that on DVDZiggy587 wrote:I guess my rarest DVD would be RAD, even though it was never officially made on DVD.
My rarest DVD is a Chinese print of "Airborne." It was a 90's movie about a surfer/rollerblade kid from California who temporarily moves to Cleveland to stay with relatives. Not sure if it was ever released on DVD in America. But I found this foreign NTSC copy for $5 in mint condition. It's an alright movie. Jack Black and Seth Green are in it *shrug*

What you have there is a bootleg. AIRBORNE is ultimate 90's cheese though, Seth Greens clothing montage with "I'm to Sexy" playing is unadulterated awesomeness.Weekend_Warrior wrote:

Re: Rarest Dvd or Movie You Own
now this IS rare! I'm a huge Craven fan, and I remember before they reissued it with the topless scene cut out (instead of just reissue it as UNRATED which would have made a lot more sense...sigh) that this was impossible or bank-breaking to get ahold of.Snickerd00dle wrote:as well as the PG rated Swamp Thing...
Re: Rarest Dvd or Movie You Own
There's a few sites that sell them, but I'm guessing they're all just VHS conversions. I bought a copy from one site and the quality was actually way worse than my VHS tape! And the cover was low quality as well.Weekend_Warrior wrote:One of the best movies from the 80's! Luckily, I found a sweet torrent. Some HD channel aired the movie, remastered in widescreen HD, and some one captured it. They turned it into a DVD image complete with menus. Awesome quality, just like what an official DVD would look like. I couldn't find that torrent when I just searched, but some one apparently re-upped it here, they said they included the soundtrack too (which I also downloaded separately).
I just have to share the love when it comes to RAD, this movie is awesome!
