Re: Rarest Dvd or Movie You Own
I would say my out-of-print anime DVD's would likely be my rarest. I don't buy DVD's that often and use Netflix for majority of my movie viewing.

Re: Rarest Dvd or Movie You Own
I have quite a few out-of print anime DVDs. I own all of Card Captor Sakura on DVD (the R1 releases by Pioneer) and the entire set can easily go for over $300 on eBay nowadays! I also have all the R1 releases of Sailor Moon, which go for over $200 PER SET (there are 5 of them in all!) Good thing I bought all of these as they came out!
The sad thing is, I might end up replacing most of these with the Japanese R2s, since they have remastered video and audio. They're also pretty common, if expensive.

Wow are we talking those huge, flat, square laser disks? I used to have a ton of those. I still have a bunch of tapes of movies I ripped from them. Such a strange direction those things were going, why make something bigger and less storable than the current excepted media (video tapes).Xonticus wrote:I'm personally interested in hearing about what rare Laserdiscs people have... I've been wanting to get into that for a while but lacking local supply.
I own the Battle Royale DVD, based on the book of the same name. My bro in law bought it, but could not play it on any of his DVD players because of the region thing. It plays on my laptop, though, and it is a great movie. Not sure how rare it is outside of the states.

"The Saint of Fort Washington" on DVD. I always wanted it, could never find it. Somebody gave it to me as a gift and when I asked where they got an official copy of it, they simply said "Enjoy the movie". Drats.
Re: Rarest Dvd or Movie You Own
I guess my rarest DVD would be RAD, even though it was never officially made on DVD.

Nice. I own this and the Italian version, I wasn't aware it had any rarity.Snickerd00dle wrote:Cemetery Man
Other than that, the only things I have that I'd consider rare are a few VHS films that haven't been released on DVD.
