Well, I can provide some feedback if you like (my last post was a little douchebaggy)
I like mine for the bluray and reliability. It's also worth it to me for Warhawk, which in my opinion, is the best 3rd person online shooter I've played. Then there is Little Big Planet and Gran Turismo 5. I also think the hdmi output on the PS3 seems cleaner than the 360's, that might just be in my head though.

Wrong. The vast majority of ports are inferior on the PS3.

I would only get a PS3 if the exclusive titles appeal to you, if they don't then it's probably not worth it. I have 14 games for my PS3 compared to the 60 odd titles I have for the 360, probably goes somewhere to show the amount of worthwhile games for the system. I buy multiplatform for 360, since they look better, don't take as long to load, controller is better for a lot of games, especially racing games, no mandatory installs, faster updates (seconds instead of 10-20 minutes for the PS3) and most importantly the games are cheaper.
Also, moved this to the Sony & Microsoft forum, since this is about a Sony console.

Re: convince me to get a ps3
I never said it wasn't worth it because ps3 games are inferior,
I said if he has a 360 already, there is hardly a point in getting a ps3.
The only advantages of ps3 is Bluray if you have an HDTV
and if you are a hardcore gamer and will buy a console for the exclusives then get a ps3
because some games are worth it like demon soul.
If you do not have a 360, then it is really hard to say.
PS3 is better option but some people like me prefer:
1) xbox controller
2) online community
3) Microsoft exclusives like Fable and Halo I am more willing to play than GT and FF, but its up to you really

Re: convince me to get a ps3
If by FF you mean Final Fantasy, then FFXIII is going to be on both the 360 and PS3 simultaneously.
It's a good point. If you already have a 360 and the exclusives for PS3 don't appeal then there is absolutely zero point in buying a PS3. Not even as a blu-ray player. You can buy blu-ray players in this country for under £70 now. Hell, you could even get a full Live 2.0 compliant blu-ray home cinema 5.1 system for little more than a PS3 slim now. So the argument of buying a PS3 as a blu-ray player isn't really valid anymore. You would really be better off buying standalone blu-ray player since they are so cheep now.
In my opinion the people who don't have a PS3/360 should only buy a PS3 if the exclusives really appeal to you and you like the extra features it gives you, such as the PlayTV DVR add-on etc.
If you want a blu-ray player and you can see yourself playing more multiplatform titles, then you should buy a 360 and a seperate blu-ray player for much less than a PS3, if the lack of free online multiplayer puts you off then consider that the games for the 360 9 times out of 10 are cheaper on the 360 than PS3 then the money you save will go a long way to paying the £2 a month fee for xbox live.
If the extra stuff the PS3 does and the blu-ray doesn't appeal to you then the 360 is definitely the best choice since the games and console are much cheaper.

@Niode
Xbox and PS3 costs are actually more comparable then one might think. Lets compare;
PS3 120 gig Slim - $299.99 USD
Built in Wifi
Blu ray Player
Controller
Free Online play
Add Pure game +$19.99
Add Lego Batman Game +19.99
---
Total = $339.97
Xbox 360 120 gig Holiday Bundle - $299.99 USD
Wifi not built in +$99.99
No Blu ray +$90 minimum for stand alone player
Controller
Subscription Online play +$49.99 yearly
Free Pure Game
Free Lego Batman Game
---
Total = $449.97 without Blur ray player or $539.97 with blu ray
So as it stands, to get the exact same features from either purchase the PS3 is ultimately the cheaper system as of now.
So unless there are exclusives for 360 that you absolutely must play, its not really worth it right now.
Edit: Forgot to mention, all prices are suggested retail price from Amazon.com, I did not factor in deals and discounts.

Re: convince me to get a ps3
Well, to be fair, some people aren't going to need a hard-drive, a WiFi connection or Gold membership. This is what is going to make flat-out saying "one is a cheaper option that the other" a hard thing to do.
I know that, for me, the PS3 was the cheaper option. My TV is so far from my computer/internet connection, that a Wireless Network Adaptor was a must-have, and that alone made the 360 cost the same as a PS3 without even factoring in a larger hard-drive, Gold membership, etc.

Re: convince me to get a ps3
True, but since this is a gaming forum I was comparing under the assumption that most people here are 'hardcore' and would want similar features on each system. And granted, if the buyer already has a Blu ray that affects the decision as well.
Total cost for an Arcade 360 with those two games is $239.97
Thats without the wifi adaptor or live subscription. The hundred dollar difference for the PS3 gets you the hard drive, wifi and online play and a blu ray player. That seems like a hot deal to me when that 100 dollars would only get you the blu ray player or wifi with the 360.

Most Xbox users don't use wifi and most don't pay for XBL yearly, quit padding the cost with unnecessary crap.
Also, wireless G adapters are significantly cheaper than that now.
Re: convince me to get a ps3
Again, I was assuming that the buyer was a 'hardcore' gamer and would like these features. Also, I wanted the same features to be seen across the entire comparison. Most hardcore gamers do like to play online for at least one or two games and paying yearly is the cheapest way to do it. Also note that I was pricing based on suggested retail price from amazon.com, so ya, the adaptor might be cheaper now other places, but its still in the 70 to 80 dollar range. Considering that wifi is standard on most electronic products now paying between 70 and 100 dollars is ridiculously pricey.
I looked at it from a purely finacial perspective. I didn't look at how the PS3/360 online works, nor who has better exclusives. For all the same features and additions, PS3 is cheaper though, no question. You can not say otherwise.
Oh and if you had cared enough to read my second post, I stated that without the same features of PS3, a 360 will run $239.97. Cheaper then PS3 yes, but that 100 dollars more for PS3 adds 4 features compared to one feature of an elite 360 unit.
