ePSXe will not run in Windows 7.

Post by newt42 »

I can get it to open. I have gotten as far as configuring P.E.O.P.'s plugins. When I tried to open up the ISO, it brought up these error windows.

"Missing render extension!"

"No pixel format available!"

"EPSXe has stopped working.

Windows is checking for a solution to the problem.
[Loading Bar]"

Of course, Windows is not going to provide solutions to a vague software such as this. Has anyone else somehow gotten epsxe working on Windows 7?

EDIT: See post 6 for a solution.

Wow that sucks. I'm guessing the team would fix and issue like that... can't imagine a project like that would just let it stop working on a new OS.

Actually, I remember hearing about this before. What plugins are you using? Most people get around those errors by using Pete's D3D one.

I see. The problem is your GPU (video) plugin.

Try the OGL/D3D one about halfway down the page and see if you still get the error.

Just out of curiosity, is there any way to get a newer and better GPU plugin working in windows 7?

Hm... I don't think that your problem is with Windows 7. What graphics card do you have (and how recent are its drivers)?
