Yeah I noticed them shoot up in price too. Luckily I found a craigslist sale a couple days ago for a ps2 (w/ a broken laser) all hookups, and a network adapter for $20. I jumped all over it. I can use the ps2 with an hdd, so the broken laser doesnt bother me.

Well I jumped a bit late on the bandwagon myself.. my phat PS2's lens decided to retire on me so I went with the HDD option. Can't say I regret it but a few games like Sonic Unleashed don't work at all

Re: PS2 Network Adapter is the New FFVII
At lunchtime, I stopped by Gamestop near my workplace and noticed that they have the network adapter for $15. I checked Ebay and it seems that they're still going for $34 on average + shipping.
Doing a search on gamestop, I see many of the stores in my area have them. So it looks like some easy $20 for me to pick up over the next few weeks.

my fat PS2 came with the network adapter at no additional cost at Gamestop. I ended up trading it on here a few months back.

Sweet. Did you pick through the available PS2 to find the one you wanted? Did it also come with a hard drive?noiseredux wrote:my fat PS2 came with the network adapter at no additional cost at Gamestop. I ended up trading it on here a few months back.
They're still selling used PS2s for $69. Not sure if the phat one is cheaper or not. They still have piles of gamecube games but they really haven't changed their pricing yet (in my opinion).

Re: PS2 Network Adapter is the New FFVII
the fat PS2 I got was like $10 cheaper than the slim if I recall correctly. I didnt pick through, I just said "hey, can you see if you have one with a network adapter in the back?" and sure enough they did. It did not have a HDD, but I had a spare at home that fit and could be formatted for the PS2 easily. At any rate, I never used the thing cuz I soft-modded it and ran any homebrew off a thumbdrive. That's why I got rid of the network adapter.
