Sega Cue Maker doesn't work in Windows 7 SOLVED

Post by Ziggy »

So it has been brought to my attention that Sega Cue Maker does not work in Windows 7. If you try to launch the program you get an error message...

I tried to use different compatibility modes but none of them would work. I also tried opening it as an administrator which also doesn't work. My guess is that some one will have to patch the program to get it to work in 7 (IF that will ever happen) but maybe there's a stupid easy fix that some one will stumble on.

I tried searching the web, but all the results were either download links or posts asking how to use the program. So if any one finds a solution, post it here!

That sucks... the only thing that has kept me away from Windows 7 so far is the whole compatibility thing. I just don't want a bunch of my programs to stop working. Some of the ones I use haven't been updated in years.

Do you have a machine with an older OS to run it on in the meantime?

Maybe it'll work in Wine.

Comdlg32.ocx is actually a Windows system file. The easiest way to fix this is to redownload the file if necessary, and then register it using Regsvr32. I believe the necessary code is "c:\regsvr32.exe comdlg32.ocx", but you might want to double check that.

If you have Windows 7 Pro/Enterprise/Ultimate you can use the Windows XP mode.

I made a tutorial on how to get it working in newer Windows systems, but I can't find it using the forum search. The thread's name is "Making Sega Cue Maker Working in Vista", but it doesn't seem to be on Racketboy anymore. :(

I believe this is what you're talking about.

How did you find that? I searched, and no results came up.

Don't bother with the forum search function, just use the Google one on the top of the page.

That's weird because I can use it in Vista perfectly fine, but I get that error in 7.
