I watched this show as a kid in the early 90s. I only watched the first season and missed out on the second. Probably because of the insane 5am/6am broadcast time.
The first season was a 30 min video games tips, reviews and cartoon show. A fictional character, Johnny Arcade would host the show for a set amount of time before turning it over to a cartoon staring an animated version of himself and a host of other characters entirely from Akklaim released titles.
The show was completely changed in the 2nd season. Still video game themed, the new format was that of a game show... a horrible game show.

Re: Video Power (season 2) stupidity
Yeah we have had a bunch of discussions about this show year a while back. I watched this all the time when I was a kid, never saw the original format though.. Me and my friends would set up a maze type thing in the basement of my house and put games all over and emulate the show. We would have different competitions and the winner got the pleasure of running around collecting game boxes and trying to find the certain game that would win the empty system box.

Nah that would have been a bit much for ten year olds plus it would have ruined the game boxes. Unless you count velcro sneakers. They were probably involved. Them and Reebok pumps.

As long as velcro was involved somehow, then that's ok.superlarz wrote:Nah that would have been a bit much for ten year olds plus it would have ruined the game boxes. Unless you count velcro sneakers. They were probably involved. Them and Reebok pumps.
