I went to a friends house for Christmas this year not expecting anything out of it but a warm meal and some good company.
When I ventured down to his basement I seen a old iMac computer sitting on there floor that wasn't being used that belonged to his mother. I enquired if she was using it and if it worked she wasn't and it did. I asked if she would be willing to part with it and she said yes and ended up giving it to me for free the reason I wanted it was because I figured I would be able to run some emulation on it. Before I get into any of it going on there I need to do some clean up on it maybe even some modding or design to the case. Just curious if anyone had any cool ideas out there?
Anything would be nice ideas stories of something one of you have done or something similar if all goes well I might test the waters on something else I'll probably make a post of the work that I get done on it over time or when im close to being done thanks guys and girls and have a great Christmas or whats left of it

Hahaha be nice to me when I say this. I recently just jumped on the mac boat when I bought my MacBook so I dont know much. I tried searching around and looking at pictures to find some clue but the only difference I could see was the CD drives. Mine is not a tray its one of the pull in ones and its clear blue in color if that helps. Im curious as to which model it is myself if you know thats great

Re: iMac
The slot loader is slightly faster than the tray model. It has a 350MHz (or faster depending on the model) PPC processor compared to the 233-333MHz PPC of the tray model.
You can upgrade it to 1GB RAM (which I urge you to do). You can even put OS X on it, well, the versions of OS X that support PPC...
You should be able to find emulators yourself.

Re: iMac
You have a similar IMac to mine. A 350mhz G3 slotloader:

Currently mine has 196 megs of ram, since I
In OS9 mine ran an NES emulator at full speed, I didnt try anything else. BUT I know others who have run SNES/Genesis at full speed, and N64 at "playable" speeds. I couldnt stand OS9 so I installed Ubuntu 5 (Breezy Badger) PPC version and Ive yet to install any emulators on it, but will in the near future.

Re: iMac
i don't know about mods, but you should be able to run virtual game station on it to play playstation games at full speed. i was really bummed when it wouldn't boot under classic on os X though, but sounds like your new mac should run it no problem.
