getting nesds to work

Post by 8-bit Legend »

Today, for Christmas, I received CycloDs Evolution. I have installed CycloDs v1.55 onto a microSD card. I created a file called Nes. In this folder I saved the NesDs firmware. In the NesDs file I copied over all my game files from Nestopia which I run on my computer. When I try to access these files, I can't even view them; they don't even appear. These game files are all .7z. I've read that NesDs requires .nes or .nds files. What should I do? How do I convert my .7z files into preferably .nds files? :?:

Just download new .nes ROMS of the games you already have. It would probably be easier than trying to convert what you've got. They're extremely small files and quick to download.

There is no need to to convert the files but .7z means they are zipped so all you need is to extract them with 7-zip

http://www.7-zip.org/

Much like you would extract a regular winzip or winrar file.

As Arion mentioned, just download 7-zip. The .7z means the rom is compressed similar to .zip, .rar, etc.

There's nothing to convert. You just need to run 7-zip to extract the rom out of the compressed archive.

Thanx for the help! I am currently playing Contra on my DS. Soon I'll try to install Lameboy or NeoDs

Yeah, I forgot about .7z. I usually see .rar or .zip. Sorry about that! Glad everything worked out for you.
