FiftyDollarCurse's Game Room

Post by FiftyDollarCurse »

Well, my wife and I managed to buy our first home this past October, and it's been a few months now and I think I've managed to acquire enough free furniture to make my designated video game space decent enough to show off.

I've never had a dedicated space for my stuff before, as we'd previously been hole in a one bedroom apartment with the majority of my things in storage. It feels so good to let it all out to breath and be played with.

Keep in mind as your browse my thing that my budget for this room was and remains $0. All the furniture was acquired for free or for a few dollars at most. So while it may not look like a spaceship or anything, I think I've done fairly well.

Let's get the boring stuff out of the way first:

This is my 47" Vizio with current generation consoles, PS3 (80GB with backwards compatibility) and the Wii.

And these are the games, it's a slow burning collection.

Now that that is out of the way let's turn around and head downstairs...

Let's play some retro games. PlayStation 2, DreamCast, Nintendo 64, Super NES, NES, Sega Genesis with Sega CD, Turbografx-16 with Turbo CD, Sega Master System, Intellivision II, Atari 2600 Jr. and a Yobo FC3+ which plays NES, SNES and Genesis games.

Now, I think that's a fairly respectable collection which will provide untold hours of entertainment. But the room isn't anything unique, surely nothing that hasn't been trumped by many others on the internet. But my room has one thing I'm sure everyone reading this will be envious of, and it is this:

Very solid room man. You a big wrestling fan? I see you got some Bret "The Hitman" Hart memorabilia and some other wrestling action figures on the shelf. I was a big fan or wrestling back in the day around 1997 to about 2003 maybe. My favorite wrestlers being Stone Cold Steve Austin, Goldberg, Undertaker, Kane, Mick Foley, and The Rock. Those were the good days.

A bathroom directly adjacent to the game room. Brilliant.

And are those boxed Intellivision games? How'd you pull that off?

You can thank my parents for holding on to those Intellivision boxes, they're the original owners.

All the manuals and controller overlays and product catalogs are still included as well.

As for the wrestling stuff, yes I am a fan. I don't watch it much on TV anymore but I still catch the live shows when they come around here. It's great fun and I have no shame in enjoying it.

Is there anything you DO NOT have?
Is there any wrestling VHS you want to sell? :)
