Honestly, because of the size of the screws and how tightly they're on there if you want to take apart and put back together the GBC you'll need to get a tri-wing screwdriver. If you just want to open it up then a Dremel with a good cutting bit will do just fine.

It can be done with a small flat blade precision screwdriver. Not the easiest way, but I know one of them in the set will fit. Not much fun though...

They don't cost all that much. Places will cell phone stuff sometimes have them. If you're desparate and creative you can make one (or two) like I did the first time I opened one up, though I have bought one since. If you have a thin metal rod and a file with a good corner you could file a point, then cut 3 grooves in it until you get something that works.

Try #1 on the left was with some metal that was too soft. Try #2 on the right was harder metal and the shape came out better. But if I'd known I could get one at a cell phone place at the time, I would have done that first.

I bought this one when it was still in stock for 11 dollars so I could open my gamecube controllers. There are however much cheaper options available. Ive seen triwings go for as low as 50 cents new. So just pick one up.

I just wanted that particular one because the blue bit on the end spins which makes it real easy to use with your palm.
