Intellivision Probem

Post by kgcarini »

I have a intellivision that does not power on. I opened it up, and the wires still seem to be sodered fine. The switch to turn it on/off is a little corroded on the top. Any ideas????

Okay, it does power on. I can't get it to work on my tv. I get a black screen with white dotted lines. I have mono phono cable with an adapter from phono to coaxial hooked to an SD tube tv. Help please!!! :?:

I haven't opened up an Int yet. Is the power switch single or double throw? Does it have 2 or 4 solder points besides the ones there might be for the frame to hold it on the board? If there was corrosion on it and it has 2 switching paths it might only be connecting one side. You could also have a dirty cart slot or carts. If there was corrosion on the switch, you might be getting the same sort of issue like a NES where not everything is making contact, just that old systems will usually give you black and some specks of white on the screen as opposed to flashing like a NES or random solid colored screens like NEC hardware.

Also, shoulda posted in the technical help section. Maybe a mod will move it there for you. :)
