Why is anime synonymous with gaming?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I'm failing to see how it's the same exact picture, though. I'm not seeing any similarity between character positions, and the Simpsons piece is far more geometrical.

Of course, it's hard to compare either when its in such a low resolution.
