You don't need an official mixing cable, you can buy a generic male-male mini plug adapter from Rat Shack for like $2 and it'll work fine.

I feel terrible. I don't own any Sega hardware anymore. At one point though I had both a Genesis and a Dreamcast, but re-bought most of my DC favorites on other systems and purchased both Genesis compilations (PS2/360).

Does a Saturn USB pad count? :D

Mostly harmless

You're thinking of the Sega CD audio mixing cable. The 32X needs a video mixing cable, which will vary depending on what model of Genesis you have. It's pretty straightforward to solder one up yourself, the genesis and 32X both use standard (mini)DIN plugs.
