Just Got a New HDTV; Now What

Post by JordanPlayer »

Hey guys, I recently just took the plunge and bought a new HDTV:
http://www.lge.com/us/tv-audio-video/te ... 47LH90.jsp

Now the next step for me is getting all my old consoles set up and going on this set. I believe that all of my consoles have composite cables, but I know that these just provide adequate picture quality when displaying on larger-sized screens. The TV has these connections:
• 4 HDMI™ V.1.3 with Deep Color
• 2 HD Component Video Inputs
• 2 Composite Input
• 1 Digital Audio Out (Optical)
• USB 2.0 (JPEG, MP3, DivX)
• PC Connectivity (D-sub 15pin)
• RF Antenna Input

I was wondering what the best course of action would be to get these consoles hooked up with some better cables/equipment.

I would advise you to hook up your older consoles to an older TV, namely a behemoth CRT. I too have an LCD with those dimensions (well 46') and specs, but the majority of my older consoles are played on a 32' Panasonic CRT in my basement.

I'll let this article do the explaining: http://nfgworld.com/mb/thread/660

^Yea, I was wondering if there is any type of adapter for that which doesn't degrade the quality?

list your consoles and check the boards that apply to them. there is a thread on the Saga board about best Dreamcast connection, I'm sure there is a 'best' solution for Saturn and other consoles too. for PS games I'd just go with a PS3, hopefully with BC with PS2 just to save space.
Ocelot, did it again...sorry Boss !
