JP Dreamcast boot problem ??

Hi,

I have the Japanese Pink Sakura Dreamcast,, it say it is model hkt 3000 at the back of it.

It play my original JP games with no problem...

I can not boot my gameshark cd, nor the Utopia boot cd,
I also tried a self booting Crazy taxi 3 release with added dummy file ...
all was burnt using discjuggler... The Gameshark cd is from the factory.

It can read and play burned audio tho...

why cant it boot up the boot cds ? and games ??

I want to pull off the region switching mod, but its no idea i solder the wire... when it cant boot the region changing tool cd... =(

Do i have to buy a modchip now to be able to play my PAL games on it ??

Im not sure about the date...

the manuals are printed in year 2000 they say.

its written something 12 // 12 on the box im not sure if its the date but looks like it..

As you see it is bundled with the Sakura WARS game,,, what i read on wikiepdia that was released in year 2000.... its definatley year 2000 i think....

Also it has some box with a MIL CD logo and some japanese text.... possibly be a warning box ?? im not sure so i took a photo and sent to my japanese friend for explination...

Anyway if I have a "bad" model can i still put in a modchip ??

near the region is a number in a circle. if this is 0 or 1 it can play burned games. 2s cant.

thanks... but mine doesnt look like that at all in the bottom...

I will take some photos of it now.. i have taken it apart... I figured the GD-rom is a Samsung....

I have the same issue with the dc-x boot. With my pal machine it boots always. On the ntsc(j) console I have to swap several times (say 5-10 times) to make a good boot. I also displays several boot options when I run it on the Japanese one.
