Anyone else into Talking Heads?

Post by jfe2 »

Best band ever... Period. :)

Just watched that DVD not too long ago. If you ever have the time to watch it all the way through, I would really recommend it. I think I'm gonna buy the Blu-ray from Amazon soon.

Easily one of my favorite bands. I need to push "Stop Making Sense" Blu to the top of my Netflix queue.

Ya, they're good stuff.

A bunch of bands have been trying to sound like them lately.

I like them. I listened to them a fair bit in high school and university, but that was a few years ago now. I was never a huge fan, but I always thought they were awesome.

Yes. They're just about the only decent band from the 80s.

Definitely love Talking Heads and have all their albums. My Dad was a fan so he got me into them at an early age. They were one of the only consistently good bands from the 80s. I am still angry about hearing that one good Dramarama song thinking they were going to be an amazing band to get into until to hear the rest of their material. Wish I could remember the song's name.

Remain in Light is one of my favourite albums ever. From 2:44 to 3:18 on Born Under Punches just repeatedly blows my mind.

Check out the movie True Stories. It was made by David Byrne. It is hilarious.

Check out "Knotty Pine" by The Dirty Projectors w/ David Byrne of the Heads. Pretty awesome. This whole album is fantastic, definitely check it out if you like the heads.

Also, David Byrne's new band was on The Colbert Report a month or two ago. Might want to google it.
