My faves of all time would have to be George Carlin, Bill Hicks, Tommy Cooper and Ross Noble. I do like a good standup but anyone who repeats the same jokes in consecutive tours gets crossed off my list. Offenders: Peter Kay, Eddie Izzard, Jimmy Carr, I know there's quite a few more but their names escape me right now.

Well, it's not that obvious. Probably because, as you said, Bill was just so much better. My reaction was always, "Really, he stole from Bill Hicks? He doesn't even seem half as brilliant."
