Squashed Video on LCD with older consoles

Post by Zandengoff »

I have an LCD panel several things are connected to it though a switch box and it nativly supports svideo and rca.
Image
The dreamcast is s video and displays properly.
Image
The directv is rca and displays properly
Image
The SNES is rca or svideo and both squash to the top of the screen (Resolution Problems?) and ghost a bottom image that doesn't refresh after the first title screen resolution change.
Image
The Genesis is the same way.
Really sorry about the quality of the images, but this post is about the squashing and not about the quality.
On the LCD panel i have rca, vga, svideo, and dvi. I am willing to buy something if needed. Any help would be much liked.

What kind of LCD panel is it? Check the manual and see what formats it supports.

From those pics it looks like a low res interlacing problem.

I can't seem to find anything about its lower resolutions. It is a Sceptre X20 NagaII and i got it out of a trash can. 8)

found my own answer, going to attempt to run a program called dscaler with a capture card to deinterlace and upscale my consoles.

Thats a much cheaper solution than the alternatives. Let us know how it goes. I've been thinking of using it for gaming, but haven't taken the plunge yet.
